Evalluation

Now that we have finished the final piece of coursework, we are now able to start the 7 evaluation questions. For each question, they will be created and presented using technology. For example, one of my questions about enigma code and symbolic code will be presented by a voiceover, and relevant pictures popping up throughout the speaking. This will be created on Final Cut Pro.

Titles

The titles in the horror opening were created on After Effect as the titles that we had in mind were not acceccable on Final Cut Pro. We originally wanted to use the same titles that are used in insedious as they give a very creepy feel and look ghostly. However we decided that we would be more original, and create our own which are slightly distorted, like our character Ebony, and slightly glitchy. They turned out very well, and we are pleased with the final result. We struggled to get the right amount of titles in the opening scene, however it is fluent and consistent.

The background music and sound effects

For the background music, we found creepy music that was royalty free. This music fits very well with the continuity editing, and overall creepiness of the scenes. The sound effects we used such as the bang, heart monitor and whispers were also found on YouTube. These are pleonastic sounds so that they could be exaggerated to give a more professional feel.

Vox Pops and Preliminary Task

Consumed Font

For our opening scene, we wanted to use a specific font from dafont, however when we tried to install the font it did not work. Therefore we decided to use really basic font so that it doesn't take the viewers attention too much so that they can focus on the scene.

Richard (Staff's Uni) feedback

Today in lesson we had a guest speaker from Staff's Uni in Stoke. He was one of the teachers from the film course, and he was telling us about the course, and what it had in store for us. After the powerpoint, he gave us some feedback on our coursework that we have been doing. He gave us some good ideas which helped us overcome some obstacles we were facing, such as making the film glitch.

Pill bottle scene

In the next scene, we decided to get some really detailed, creepy shots of some pill bottles. We also filmed several shots of dropping the pill bottles, and pills so that we can put them in slow motion falling as we believe that this will look very good and professional if timed right, and the lighting is right.
